BSB Sing the National Anthem!

            Multi-platinum pop group Backstreet Boys, with Tampa native Nick Carter, will perform the U.S. National Anthem prior to Game One of the 2008 World Series at Tropicana Field.  Military personnel from the Tampa area will perform God Bless America in the seventh inning.

             One of the most successful pop groups of all time, Backstreet Boys have sold close to 100 million records worldwide. Their first two U.S. releases, “Backstreet Boys” and “Millennium,” each received the Diamond Award for sales of more than 10 million, with “Millennium” selling nearly 500,000 copies on its first day. The group has scored dozens of Top 40 hits, including the Top 5 smashes “Quit Playing Games (with My Heart),” “As Long As You Love Me,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” and “All I Have To Give.” Backstreet Boys released their latest album, “Unbreakable,” October 30, 2007 on Jive Records.

            The 2008 World Series will be televised nationally by FOX Sports and televised around the world by Major League Baseball International in 13 languages to 229 countries and territories around the world.  ESPN Radio and XM Satellite Radio will provide national radio coverage, while MLB.com will provide extensive online coverage and MLB Radio will provide exclusive play-by-play coverage of the game on the Internet./p>
