For California resident Erika Newcomb, finally getting her first solo picture with the Backstreet Boys came at a concert for the “In A World Like This” tour. Newcomb, who has been a fan since 1996, had met the boys all previously at television tapings and other events, but that elusive solo photo had never been taken.

”This is where all my long overdue Backstreet Boys dreams came true,” Newcomb said. “I always dreamed of meeting the boys and being in the pit and both of those things happened. I bawled my eyes out when I finally met them and was shaking as I was talking to them. (It was the) best moment ever.”

Newcomb actually just got back from seeing the Backstreet Boys’ first three shows in Las Vegas and plans to attend more shows in June.

“Currently planning on more dates to add because you can never see this show too many times,” she said.

While she loves the Vegas show, it’s the “In A World Like This” tour that holds a special place in her heart.

“My favorite part of that show along with any show is always the beginning,” she said. “The anticipation builds the closer to show time and when they finally appear on that stage. It’s a wave of so many emotions. No matter how many times I see them, I still get butterflies in my stomach the moment I see them hit that stage. And who can forget those blue suits!”

Where are you from? Orange County, California

What do you do for a living? I work for a mortgage company as loan setup

Tell us a little bit about yourself: I love to travel and am always thinking of what my next trip will be. I made a bucket list for myself to travel to all 50 states and I made a pretty big dent already within this last year. Other than BSB, country is my favorite music and I love going to country concerts.

How long have you been a BSB fan? Since 1996

How did you become a fan? The moment that I heard “Quit Playing Games” on the radio, I was hooked.

What is your favorite BSB memory? My favorite memory was in 2013 when they had a performance at the Grove in LA to celebrate IAWLT coming out. The show was amazing and after the show, there was a cd signing and it was the first time I actually got to talk to the boys. The minute I saw them in line, I instantly lost it and couldn't stop crying. I was so happy and I couldn't believe that it was happening. I got to speak to each of them individually and when I got to the end Brian got up and gave me a hug even though there weren't any hugs allowed

What is your favorite BSB song and why? My favorite song is “Inconsolable.”

What is your favorite BSB video and why?  “As Long As You Love Me”.... who doesn't love the chair dance?

Who is your favorite Backstreet Boy and why? AJ!! Not only does he have such an amazing voice and is so entertaining to watch on stage, he makes me feel like he cares every time I see him. He is always so sweet and will sit there and have a conversation with me. He makes every moment I have with him special.

How has BSB impacted your life? In so many ways! Their music just makes me happy. I've also gotten to travel and see new places because of them, can't wait for the next adventure.

What is your favorite thing about being a BSB fan? My favorite thing is always just spending time with them, whether it’s it for a few seconds or for a couple of minutes. Every time is so special to me. I love to see the bond they have with each other and love that after all this time they are still so amazing to their fans. Not many people can say that about their favorite band. We're lucky that we have five amazing men who still make music and put on the most amazing shows and have no plans of slowing down. I am so excited for what is to come..
