Nicole Plummer is your typical Georgia girl - loves Georgia Tech, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves and the fact that a Backstreet Boy calls Atlanta home. But for Nicole, the love of Backstreet Boys goes a little deeper.

In the question for the contest to be the January 2017 Soldier of the Month, Nicole said that her BSB-related resolution was to get to Las Vegas to see the boys and have fun for her and her mother, who she lost last year and in a way, the Backstreet Boys have helped her during her tough time.

“Listening to the songs have helped,” Nicole said. “My mood will change from sad to happy because I will sing the lyrics to the songs (and) remember her and singing the songs.”

Thankfully Nicole, who has been a fan since 1997, was able to get tickets to one of the newly added April shows and see her mother’s two favorite guys Brian and Nick.

Where are you from?
I was raised in Marietta, Georgia

What do you do for a living?
I used to be a teacher and now I help my dad with his business because he is self-employed.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:  My parents moved from Indiana to Georgia a year before I was born. I have a younger brother. My mom worked at Georgia Tech for almost 30 years before she passed away, so I am a huge Georgia Tech fan. We have season tickets for football and go to some basketball and baseball games. I also like the Falcons. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. Backstreet Boys are my all-time favorite group. I listen to country music and love Rascal Flatts, but also like listening to ‘90s pop music.

How long have you been a BSB fan?
I've been a BSB fan since 1997.

How did you become a fan?
I heard “Quit Playing Games With My Heart” on the radio and loved it, so I got the Backstreet Boys tape. I got the cd when CDs came out. My first concert was a BSB concert in the summer of 1998, two weeks after I got my tonsils out. I've been a fan ever since that first concert and still go to every concert when they come to Atlanta.

What is your favorite BSB memory?
My favorite BSB memory is seeing all five guys back together in concert when Kevin came back to the group. It wasn't quite the same seeing the four guys in concert without Kevin. I still went to the concerts with the four guys when they came to Atlanta and loved seeing them, but the energy wasn't the same as when all five guys are together.

What is your favorite BSB song and why?
My favorite BSB song is “Everybody (Backstreet's Back)” because no matter how long the guys take time off, or no matter where they go, that song means so much when they get back together and sing it in concert.

What is your favorite BSB video and why?
My favorite BSB video is “Larger Than Life” because it looks like they had a lot of fun making that video and it was different than other things they had done at that time.

Who is your favorite Backstreet Boy and why?
Nick is my favorite because obviously, he is good looking, he's goofy, and he's an inspiration to others for overcoming all of the obstacles he's dealt with in his life.

How has BSB impacted your life?
I feel like I can relate to their songs. I still get so excited when one of their songs comes on, I'm like a little kid. I could hear any BSB song and my mood will quickly change from sad or mad to happy and calm.

What is your favorite thing about being a BSB fan?
My favorite things about being a BSB fan is being able to have music that I really enjoy and can relate to and isn't dirty music. I also love that the guys really are a family and love being around each other and want to keep making music together after all of these years. They are the only ones in my generation that are still a group after so long and I'm still a huge fan.
