If I could plan the perfect BSB Valentine’s concert it would first of all be held for all the girls in BSB land who are single and feel alone in the world. And the five songs I would choose are…
1. ‘Don’t Want To Lose You Now’ because who wouldn’t want to hear their favorite BSB telling them that they’d fight for them and their love? That they’d go crazy without you.
2. ‘Drowning’ because it’s such a beautiful song, I love the lyrics to this song so much ‘I don’t need another lifeline, it’s not for me.’ BSB is a lifeline for me and so many others.
3. ‘Safest Place To Hide’ Again, another song with beautiful lyrics that speaks to my heart. ‘You understand me like nobody can.’ Isn’t that what we all want in life? Someone’s heart to understand ours?
4. ‘As Long As You Love Me’ This song is such a big part of my life, every time I hear it it makes me smile and I will forever sing along to it where ever I am. As soon as the first chords play I’m in love with BSB all over again. In public my first words are ‘it’s my boys!’
5. ‘The One’ This is my all-time favorite BSB song! It can turn any mood upside down. BSB will always make all my ‘sorrows undone’ and ‘be the light when you feel like there’s nowhere to run.’
These five songs are just a few of the reasons I love the five guys so much! As the song goes ‘music is your happiness or sadness but it also heals your soul.’
So these 5 songs would make the perfect Valentine's Day concert:
1.) As Long As You Love Me- no matter what mistakes I make as a parent or wife. I know that my husband will love me know matter what. And know matter how many times I act like a fool in front of my BSB I know they will always love me too.
2.) I Will Never Break Your Heart- cause my friends like to say hurtful things about my weight. My husband tells me he loves me just the way I am. And BSB have said nothing but encouraging words to me. Thank you boys.
3.) Breathe - without BSB and family my life would be nothing. My life is crazy with 2 kids 4 and 8 years old so I need some time to breathe. So without these people I can't breathe.
4.) Show Em What Your Made Of- cause I have struggled with my weight ever since my first child, and more so with my second one. This is my year to loss this weight. I am on a no carb diet. Which is hard for me cause I love my pasta and bread. So this is really hard for me. I tell everyone that I am going to try and loss weight and that I am on a diet and they just laugh at me. But BSB help me do this. I workout to there music and it really helps me. Thank you for encouraging words through your music.
5.) PDA- cause every girl needs some PDA on Valentine's Day. I just want to say thank you to the BSB for sharing their PDA with us for almost 25 years.
And to me this would make the perfect Valentine's Day concert.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love BSB fan of 24 years,
Kimberly Herdman
So the perfect Valentine's concert would be these 5 songs.
1.) As Long As You Love Me- Cause know matter how make mistakes I make as a parent and wife I know my husband will always love me. And know matter how stupid I can be in front of the boys I know they will always love me too.
2.) I Will Never Break Your Heart- cause my friends like to say hurtful things to me about my weight. But my husband always tells me I love you just the way you are. And the BSB have been nothing but nice and encouraging towards me.
3.) Breathe- without BSB in my life would be nothing.
I would choose “ I’ll Never Break Your Heart “, “ Rsuhing Though Me “ , “ Drowning “ , and “ Love Somebody “ They would set the mood perfectly for a romantic valentines
1. I Promise you
Always thought this would be a great first dance song for a wedding
2. Drowning
It’s a classic and one of my favs
3. As Long as you Love me
Because it wouldn’t be a BSB Valentine’s Day concert without it- chair dance!
4. Yes I will
Another great first dance song for a wedding
5. I’ll never break your heart
One of the first BSB songs I listened to
1. No one Else Comes Close to You
I love this song and, the way their voices blend together.
2. Love Is
I wish that this song was on an album. Even though it's unreleased it's one of my favorites.
3. I'll Never Break Your Heart
I love this song, because their telling their love interest that, their not like they guys she's had before.
4. Back To Your Heart (Instrumental)
Even though this isn't a "romantic" love song, like the others that I picked. I would still pick it for a Valentine's playlist. But only the version that Kevin did on A Night Out....without the lyrics. The lyrics don't scream love since it's a song about getting your girlfriend back, but the music behind it is really pretty.
5. How Did I Fall In Love With You
I feel like this song is a little underrated. It doesn't get the love that it deserves. While, the title questions how I fell in love.....I looked beyond that and think of it as more of a reminisce of how they fell in love with that person.
1) As Long As You Love Me - Why? Because it is a BSB CLASSIC. The message is lovely and about not caring about someone's background and history. Bonuses are it's a mid tempo song that would keep things from being all ballads. and EVERYBODY loves the chair dance. Additional bonus is it's the set where Brian met Leighanne so he has some history to make it personal.
2) Don't Wanna Lose You Now - Why? Because everyone can relate to that feeling of fearing that they will lose the relationship. Not to mention it is a beautiful song.
3) Safest Place to Hide - Why? The acapella version of this song hits me in the feels every time. It is beautiful and a lovely V-Day ballad to swoon to
4) Just to Be Close - Why? ALSO ACAPELLA. This song is the be-all and end-all of BSB acapella as far as I'm concerned and those 5 part harmonies just pair perfectly with the beautiful words of the song. And there's something so simple as the idea of "just wanting to be close" to that special someone.
5) Drowning- Why? Good idea to end on another BSB classic. Faster tempo than a straight ballad and one everyone can sing their hearts out too. ALSO just the right amount of cheesiness for Valentine's Day. Could also be sung acapella, but both versions of this song are absolute fire so it wouldn't even matter.
Only 5 choices is so hard!
Only five?! Okay here goes. Brace yourselves though, It’s gonna be a blast from the past.
1)MORE THAN THAT: Have you LISTENED to the lyrics?!
“Don't give loneliness a chance, baby listen to me when I say….I will love you more than that…” Like that last line in AJ’s rasp... I DIE. Seriously die.
2) I PROMISE YOU (With Everything I Am): I’m crying already and I haven’t even put up the lyrics.
“I see you look at me when you think I'm not aware. You're searching for clues of just how deep my feelings are. How do you prove the sky is blue, the ocean's wide. All I know is what I feel When I look into your eyyyyyyes”
3) I NEED YOU TONIGHT: “I need you tonight. I need you right now. I know deep within my heart. It doesn't matter if it's wrong or right. I really need you tonight”
*Picking jaw up off the floor* Wrong or right?! Please say it again. Now y’all know this is Nick’s song; he sings all the lead vocals in this. My teenage dream was to have him sing this song to me (preferably while I’m sitting onstage with him holding my hand and staring into my eyes) while I dissolve into a puddle of nothing.
4) BACK TO YOUR HEART: “I turn back time, to make you mine, and find a way back to your heart. I beg and plead, fall to my knees, to find a way back to your heart”.
The lyrics speak for themselves. This one was on heavy repeat during the Millennium days.
5) HOW DID I FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU: “Those days are gone, now I want you so much. The night is long, and I need your touch. Don't know what to say, never meant to feel this way. Don't want to be, alone tonight”……………..
I was a straight-laced teen. I remember this song in particular, stirred something inside of me, caused my little heart to flip-flop. Such a beautiful song, so quiet and simple but conveys the little yearnings of love so well. Ughhhh, soooo mushy, I know! But I love it!
You guys, these songs were the soundtrack of my early teens! I love the earlier ballads, they’d be absolutely perfect for a Valentine’s Day concert!
Everything I am - I think it's a perfect wedding song too.
Drowning - my absolute favorite song of theirs.
I'll never break your heart - no explanation necessary.
The one - one of my favorites.
All I have to give - such a good message. Material gifts aren't what's important in a relationship.
All of these have good, pure messages of what true love looks like and what we should all strive for.
My top 5 picks for a sweet Backstreet Valentines line up would be..
5. Try.. (Let me hold you bay-bay....'nuff said)
4. No One Else Comes Close ( Damn girl I love you!)
3. If You Want it To Be Good Girl ( because every Valentines day needs some SPICE!)
2. Drowing ( because it melts my soul)
And...
1. Just To Be Close... a Capella. Showcases the guys raw talent and takes me back to when I first fell head first into their music and am truly thankful for every aspect of what IS the Backstreet Boys.
